HongKong Trip - My Shopping Haven!

I was still a kid when my parents first brought me to HongKong.  Both my parents visit HongKong to eat good Chinese food and to shop (well my dad used to go for business trips).
Now that I am old enough and can pay for my own flights, I still go there to do the same thing.  Thank goodness for promo fares, HongKong is more accessible!

We stayed for 4 days at the fabulous Marco Polo Gateway as it is located along my favorite shopping area, Canton Road. Alongside our hotel there's Prada, Louie Vuitton, Gucci, Burberry, Chanel, Hermes, Dior and the most interesting for me, across is H&M!

First Day - Macau
It was my first time to visit, hmmm it was ok... I just went there for a day trip.  Visited the Senado Square, the ruins of St. Paul and my last stop, The Venetian.  And then, I miss HongKong already and would want to go back right away! Haha!

Sunday Delights

During Sundays I usually go to church at Santuario de San Jose in the morning then have a good lunch at one of my favorite restaurants, Pasto.  After a sumptuous lunch, I went directly to one of the recent discoveries I had called Happy Lemon, this is a milk-tea place originally from HongKong.
I love Sundays, it makes me relax and prepare for the first work day of the week!

Leila's Cafe, Vigan Ilocos Sur

Located at Gen. Luna st, Vigan Ilocos Sur, Leila's Cafe is one of the newest establishment in the area.  First time I saw the place, I fell in love.  Interiors are quaint, quite lovely and cozy. We all ordered their coffee concoctions.  My cousin ordered their best seller longga crepe and since I'm sort of on a diet, I ordered their spicy tuna crepe - which unfortunately they forgot to make.  I try to understand them... it's Holy Week and it's pretty crazy in Vigan, but still good service always matters.   I cancelled my order and told them that next time please be mindful of the orders of their customers, they're polite enough and sincerely apologized.  On my next trip to Vigan, hopefully not holy week, I will go back there and try their menu, let's see if it'sworth going back to.

Van Gogh Is Bipolar - different but interesting

We were looking for a restaurant that offers something different...thus came about Van Gogh is Bipolar.  It's a hole in a wall restaurant along Maginhawa St, UP Village. Owned by Jetro, who by the way is clinically diagnosed as one.  Jetro was gracious enough to talk to us. He explained the ingredients included in his menu, I particularly love Larry Flynt's Cabbage Experience (note that according to Jetro, cabbage is supposed to beat depression).  The mix of ingredients, the flavors that burst in your mouth in your first bite is just gastronomical! Ingredients in Jetro's restaurant would make you feel better, each triggers happy hormones in the body.
The restaurant is self-service... that's a pretty new experience for me!  All in all, it was intimate, it was different and interesting, I would say I will still go back and dine there.
